சண்டே போஸ்ட் - 3
இன்றைய வாஷிங்டன் போஸ்டிலிருந்து சில சுவாரசியமான பத்திகள்:
1. அமெரிக்கா, இந்தியா, அணுமின்சாரம் - இந்திய-அமெரிக்க அணுமின்சார உற்பத்தி ஒப்பந்தம், இந்த வார புஷ் விஜயத்தினை ஒட்டி தலையங்கச் செய்தி ஆகி இருக்கிறது. தலையங்கத்திலிருந்து:
"From the start, there were doubts about this policy. It wasn't clear, for example, that India was ready to become a useful ally; the country's anti-American left wing, which is represented in the current coalition government, continues to fight a rear-guard action against the largely pro-American commercial class that has emerged thanks to rapid economic growth since the early 1990s."
2. துறைமுகச் சச்சரவு - அமெரிக்காவின் பிரதானமான ஆறு துறைமுகங்களை நிர்வகிக்கும் பொறுப்பு ஒரு அரபு நிறுவனத்திற்குக் கைமாறுவது சென்ற வாரம் முழுவதும் செய்திகளை ஆக்கிரமித்திருந்தது. நியூ யார்க், பால்டிமோர், மியாமி, நியூ ஆர்லியன்ஸ் ஆகிய நகரங்களில் உள்ள துறைமுகங்கள் இந்நாட்டின் முக்கிய நுழைவாயில்கள். இவை மூலமாக வரும் சரக்குகள் சரியாகப் பரிசோதிக்கப்படுவதில்லை என்றும் இவைகளால் அமெரிக்காவிற்கு பெரும் ஆபத்து வரப் போகிறது என்றும் 9/11க்குப் பின்னால் பரவலாகப் பேசப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தது. இப்பொழுது இத்துறைமுகங்களை நிர்வகிக்கும் பொறுப்பை வகித்து வந்த ஒரு இங்கிலாந்து நிறுவனத்திடமிருந்து அப்பொறுப்பை ஒரு துபாய் நிறுவனம் வாங்க முயற்சித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. புஷ் அரசாங்கத்தின் இடைநிலை, கடைநிலை ஊழியர்கள் இம்மாற்றத்தை ஆசிர்வதித்து விட்டனர் (கடைசி நிமிடம் வரை இது புஷ்ஷிற்குத் தெரியாது என்று சாதிக்கின்றனர், எந்த அளவு உண்மையோ!). ஆனால், இந்தச் செய்தி வெளியே வந்ததும் வலது, இடது என்று எல்லா பக்கத்து சார்களும், சாரிகளும் இதை எதிர்த்து, "ஒரு அரபு நிறுவனம் நமது துறைமுகங்களிலா, Et tu Bush?" என்று கேள்வி கேட்க ஆரம்பித்து விட்டனர். புஷ் கொஞ்சம் பின்வாங்கி, "டைம் அவுட்" கேட்டிருக்கிறார். இன்றைய நிலை இப்படி.
இவ்விஷயத்தில் சில நாட்களுக்கு முன் வெளியான போஸ்டின் தலையங்கம் இதில் ஆட்சேபிக்க எதுவுமில்லை என்று கருத்து கூறியது; நியூயார்க் டைம்ஸின் கருத்து நேர்மாறாக இருந்தது.
இன்றைய கட்டுரையில், பால்டிமோர் துறைமுகம் செயல்படுவது எப்படி, அதில் வேலை செய்பவர்களின் பணிகள் என்ன, புதிய நிறுவனத்தின் பங்கு என்னவாயிருக்கும் என்பன ஆராயப்படுகின்றன.

He wanted to maintain the Taliban as a strategic option in case Afghanistan dissolved into civil war and chaos again. The army also protected extremist Kashmiri groups who had trained in Afghanistan before 9/11 and now had to be repositioned."
4. பாலஸ்தீனியப் பிரதமர் - ஹமாஸ் அமைப்பைச் சேர்ந்த புதிய பாலஸ்தீனியப் பிரதமருடன் பேட்டி. என்ன கேட்டாலும், "முதலில் இஸ்ரேல் இதைச் செய்யட்டும்" அல்லது "முதலில் இஸ்ரேல் இதைச் சொல்லட்டும்" என்ற ரீதியில் பதில் சொல்கிறார். உதாரணம்:

The answer is to let Israel say it will recognize a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, release the prisoners and recognize the rights of the refugees to return to Israel. Hamas will have a position if this occurs.

பாலா,
வலைப்பதிவுகளின் வளர்ச்சியில் தேக்கம் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கின்றது என்று தான் எனக்கும் தோன்றுகிறது. வேகமாக வளர்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தது இப்பொழுது மெதுவாக வளர்கிறது. இதில் ஆச்சரியமேதும் இல்லை என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.
BTW, உங்கள் hiatus, hibernation ஆக மாறி விடப்போகிறது...ஜாக்கிரதை! :-)
ஹமாஸ் பேட்டி நான் (எதிர்பார்த்ததை விட) மிகுந்த முதிர்ச்சியுடன் இருப்பதாக எனக்கு தோன்றுகிறது(வாசிக்கத் தந்ததற்கு நன்றி.) பேட்டி எடுத்தவர் 'இஸ்ரேலை பற்றி கேட்கவில்லை' என்று சொல்வதை அவர் சார்பை வெளிப்படுத்துவதாகத்தான் தெரிகிறது. அதற்கு 'How do you want me not to pay attention or care about what Israel says? ' என்பது மிகுந்த நியாயமானதாகவே தெரிகிறது. முக்கியமாக அப்படி என்ன முதிர்ச்சியுடன் சமாதானத்திற்காக இஸ்ரேல் தன் நிலையிலிருந்து கீழிறங்கியுள்ளது? மேலும்
Oslo stated that a Palestinian state would be established by 1999. Where is this Palestinian state? Has Oslo given the right to Israel to reoccupy the West Bank, to build the wall and expand the settlements, and to Judaize Jerusalem and make it totally Jewish?
Has Israel been given the right to disrupt the work on the port and airport in Gaza? Has Oslo given them the right to besiege Gaza and to stop all tax refunds from the Palestinian Authority?
வசந்த், உண்மை தான். இஸ்ரேல் சொல்வதை, செய்வதைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் இருக்க முடியாது தான். இருப்பினும், வரலாற்றின் இன்றைய கால கட்டத்தில், இந்த ஆட்டத்தின் அடுத்த நகர்வை ஹமாஸ் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்றே உலகம் எதிர்பார்ப்பதாய் எனக்குப் படுகிறது. 'சரி ஜெயித்து விட்டீர்கள், என்ன செய்யப் போகிறீர்கள்?' என்ற கேள்விக்கு self-initiative ஆக என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று ஹமாஸ் யோசிப்பது நல்லது.
